Sports Funding
A wide range of activities are delivered in school which aim to engage and inspire all children. We are also committed to ensure that all children receive at least 2 hours per week of high quality well-planned PE. Over the year each child will participate in games, athletics, dance and gymnastics lessons.
Our aim is that all children leave our school at the end of Year 6 able to swim 25 metres. The Wider Curriculum PE and sport has a high profile in our school and permeates many aspects of school life.
Our children take part in many sporting competitions as part of our membership of the Vale Royal School Sports Partnership. In the summer term we also hold our annual Sports Day in which we encourage participation of all children in the form of organised competitive races.
Sustainability
Sustainability will come about through ensuring long term access to resources and facilities that encourage participation, such as the development of PE skills, as well as access to high quality facilities in the school grounds, such as the recently installed gym equipment. Sports Premium funding will always be targeted in part towards high quality staff training to ensure the delivery of the curriculum leads to the best outcomes for the children over time. This will address in the short and longer-term staff changes and training needs.
Our PE lessons are taught in part by Multiflex sports coaches, who also offer after school clubs too.
