Together, we learn, grow and dream

Victorian trip to Tatton Park - Year 3

Start: 5th Feb 2019 10:00am

Hedgehogs, Badgers and Woodpeckers visit to Tatton Park 5th & 7th February 2019

This half term, as part of our topic How to Live Forever, one of the characters from our class texts goes back in time to visit the Victorian era. As a result, we have arranged a trip to Tatton Park where the children will travel back in time themselves to experience the exciting trip of royalty to the mansion house:

In 1887, the Prince and Princess of Wales honour Tatton with a visit. To help with the preparations, your children will be recruited as extra servants and given the names of those who actually worked at Tatton in the 19th century. Before getting down to work, new servants are given strict instructions by the butler or housekeeper regarding their behaviour and social status of the time. The servants’ will be involved in the day to day running of the mansion through a range of hands on activities. New servants are also taken around the mansion so they can see how much work there is to be done and what life was like living in a grand house.

The trip for the year 3s will take place on Tuesday 5th February and the year 4 trip will be on Thursday 7th February. Children should wear school uniform on both days and bring a packed lunch and water bottle for the day.
