Music

Music presents further opportunity for creative expression.  We present musical experiences for the children in many forms. Weekly class music lessons give the children opportunities to compose, perform and learn to appreciate the work of the great composers. In Year 5 the children have an opportunity to be part of the school orchestra.

The school takes part in a number of musical festivals organised within school or within the local area. And at various times of the year there are opportunities for children to work together towards musical productions for  parents to share and enjoy.

Each year, at the request of parents, peripatetic musicians come to school weekly to tutor groups of children in a variety of instruments.  There are opportunities for paid tuition for brass, guitar, piano, keyboard and woodwind instruments.

Some children learn the recorder. Any parent wishing for musical tuition for their child, contact the school. At KS2  the school choir, Signing choir and Samba band are offered as extra curricular activities.
